Project Rapeseed 2.0

Develop a strong, regional chain in which rapeseed is utilized not only as a crop, but as a versatile raw material.

Within the Koolzaad 2.0 project, Het Foodatelier collaborates with Coöperatie Colzaco and various partners on the full valorization of rapeseed. The goal is to develop a strong, regional chain in which rapeseed is utilized not only as a crop, but as a versatile raw material – from oil and protein to fiber and straw applications for food and non-food.

Our approach

The project focuses on innovation in cultivation, processing, and product development. The fractionation of rapeseed creates new applications and business models, providing both farmers and industry with new market opportunities and enabling agriculture to become more sustainable.

Within the project, the Foodatelier plays a role in the development and validation of new food applications and processing concepts. In doing so, practical knowledge is combined with experiments and product development, ensuring that innovations are actually translated into concrete products and applications within the supply chain.

Rapeseed 2.0 is an innovation project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF East). More information about the project can be found on the Colzaco website.

The Rapeseed 2.0 project is part of one of our field labs.
