“Help us shape a portfolio strategy for the toast and crackers category.”

Hollandia Matzes, producer of the well-known Matzes, New Year's rolls and cinnamon rusk, has unique products and has been a fixture in retail for many years. For better year-round production and sales, the company has developed Hollandia toast and MatzesCrackers. She had room for two new flavor variants, with the aim of improving rotation & more choice for the retailer. The Foodatelier has been asked to give substance to the portfolio strategy for Hollandia Matzes.

Our approach

Based on insights from the market and consumers, and analysis at retail level, the route for the portfolio strategy was determined during a workshop. This included various product propositions, supported by consumer research. Subsequently, several flavor directions have been developed, including scaling up from kitchen scale to production.
